Very large avalanches are expected due to rising temperatures and rain on a snowpack characterized by high amount of fresh snow and unstable storm slabs. Avoid all avalanche terrain.

Avalanche problems

Wet snow (slab avalanches)

on some steep slopes. Avalanches can get large enough to bury a large truck or destroy several houses (size 4).

New snow (slab avalanches)

You can easily trigger avalanches on many steep slopes. Avalanches can get large enough to bury a car or destroy a small house (size 3).

Det har kommet mye nysnø i regionen. I høyden vil snøoverflaten preges av fokksnø av varierende hardhet. I terreng skjermet for vind og i skogen er det stedvis mye løs snø. Vindutsatte områder er avblåst til bakken eller skare. Det gamle snødekket antas stabilt etter "Gyda" og gjenfrysing, unntatt i de høyestliggende områdene.

Det ble meldt om opptil 50 cm nysnø og kraftig snøfokk ved Oppdal, og 25 cm nysnø i Sunndalen mandag morgen.

5 mm precipitation, up to 10 mm in the most exposed areas. Rain up to 1400 m a.s.l during the afternoon. Moderate gale from west, changing to gale from the southwest during the afternoon. -4 °C to 0 °C at 1400 m a.s.l. Cloudy.
