Avalanche warning for region Trollheimen Friday 14.05.2021

Danger level 2 - Moderate avalanche danger

Published:

Be careful on steep slopes with soft and wet snow, a skier can trigger avalanches here, or they can release when the temperature increases. Persistent weak layers buried in the old snowpack can cause natural released avalanches. Keep good distance to avalanche terrain and run out zones for wet avalanches.

Avalanche problems

Wet snow (loose snow avalanches)

on some steep slopes. Avalanches can get large enough to bury or even kill you (size 2).

Persistent weak layer (slab avalanches)

on a few steep slopes. Avalanches can get large enough to bury a car or destroy a small house (size 3). Remote triggering is possible.

Glide avalanches

on a few steep slopes. Avalanches can get large enough to bury a car or destroy a small house (size 3).

Advice

Snow cover (in Norwegian)

Lavest i nordvendt terreng.
