Locally unstable conditions. A skier or a snow mobile may trigger avalanches in the fresh wind slabs, while persistent weak layers deeper in the snow in general is hard to trigger.

Wind drifted snow (slab avalanches)

You can easily trigger avalanches on some steep slopes. Avalanches can get large enough to bury or even kill you (size 2).

Persistent weak layer (slab avalanches)

You can trigger avalanches on a few steep slopes. Avalanches can get large enough to bury a large truck or destroy several houses (size 4). Remote triggering is possible.

Mildværet søndag har gjennomfuktet snøen høyt til fjells. Over mildværsgrensen har kraftig vind og snøvær ført til en vindpåvirket snøoverflate med store ansamlinger av fersk fokksnø i leområder. I vindskjermete områder er snøen løsere og mindre bundet.

Det er tidligere observert vedvarende svake lag av kantkorn under et skarelag høyt i snødekket over 400 moh, men det er usikkert hvordan mildværet har påvirket dette.
