Avalanche risk assessment

Skredfaren er først og fremst knyttet til våt og myk snø i svært bratte heng. Sol og stigende temperaturer fra morgenen kan føre til at enkelte våte løssnøskred kan løsne av seg selv. Sannsynligheten for våte skred er størst i bratte fjellsider som får direkte solinnstråling, men skred kan også forekomme i andre himmelretninger hvor lufttemperaturen er høy.

Sannsynligheten for glideskred og skavelbrudd øker nå når det er varmt, men det er vanskelig å forutsi når dette skjer. Unngå langvarig opphold under sigesprekker og i bekkeløp, og hold god avstand til skavler.
