Locally unstable avalanche conditions at higher altitudes. Be cautious in steep terrain, as storm slabs can be triggered there.

You can easily trigger avalanches on some steep slopes. Avalanches can get large enough to bury or even kill you (size 2).

Over tregrensa ligg det fersk vindpåvirka nysnø i overflata, etter snøfall i starten av helga. Under denne, er heile snøpakka smelteomdanna opp til om lag 900 moh. Vidare opp til 1200 moh er snøoverflata våt, fuktig eller gjenfrose til skare.

Det er mykje snø over 500-600 moh. Det er meir snø enn normalt for årstida i Dalane, Sirdalsheiane, Valleheiane og Kvinesdal.

Fredag vart det observert fleire ferske glidesprekkar og små våte laussnøskred i Hunnedalen i Dalane.

1-4 mm precipitation. Rain up to 800 m a.s.l during the evening. Strong breeze from west, changing to breeze from the west during renoon. -3 °C to 0 °C at 1100 m a.s.l. Partly cloudy.

Wednesday 22. February 2023

10 mm precipitation, up to 20 mm in the most exposed areas. Rain up to 1000 m a.s.l during renoon. Fresh breeze from south. -4 °C to 0 °C at 1100 m a.s.l. Cloudy.

Avalanche risk assessment

Skiløpere kan lett løse ut middels store skred i døgnferske nysnøflak. Vær forsiktig i leområder, bratte renneformasjoner og søkk som samler snø. Det skal mer til for å løse ut skred i fokksnø fra mandagens uvær.
