Avalanche warning for region Finnmarkskysten Tuesday 07.05.2024

Danger level 1 - Low avalanche danger

Published:
Generally stabile conditions. Be aware in sun-exposed aspects for natural triggered avalanches.

Avalanche problems

Wet snow (loose snow avalanches)

You can easily trigger avalanches on a few steep slopes. Avalanches are relatively harmless to people, but can knock you off balance. Can be dangerous close to terrain traps. (size 1)

Loose snow

Below you can see a description of the current snow cover information and current weather forecast in the mountains. If your observations deviate greatly from what is described here, the warning will not necessarily apply either. Always make your own judgments or stay away from avalanche terrain.

Snow cover (in Norwegian)

Monday 6. May 2024

Snøoverflaten er generelt gjennfryst, hard og isete. I lavlandet begynner det å bli lite snø, særlig i sørvendte fjellsider. I helgen har det kommet et lite dryss av nynsø.

Mountain weather

Monday 6. May 2024

4 mm precipitation, up to 10 mm in the most exposed areas. Precipitation as snow. Fresh breeze from northwest. -7 °C to -3 °C at 700 m a.s.l. Partly cloudy.

Tuesday 7. May 2024

No precipitation. Breeze from east. -10 °C to -4 °C at 700 m a.s.l. Partly cloudy.

Advice

The bulletin is a planning tool and may differ from the actual situation. Always make your own evaluation. To be 100 % avalanche safe, avoid all avalanche terrain.

Avalanche risk assessment

Generelt stabile forhold. Nattefrost har stabilisert snødekket. Når solen titter frem kan det løsne små våte løssnøskred i svært bratt terreng.
