Some wet avalanches might occur, especially in the areas that receive the most rain. A lot of the snow will probably withstand the high temperatures well after several days of mild weather. It is uncertain if persistent weak layers still exist and if they will be reactivated now.If they are, larger avalanches can occur

Avalanches may release spontaneously on a few steep slopes. Avalanches can get large enough to bury or even kill you (size 2).

Mildvêr har gjort snøoverflata fuktig eller våt og noko regn utover søndag vil bidra til å gjere den enda våtare. Sidan det blir kaldare kan det fryse på i høgda utover kvelden.

Det har tidlegare vore vedvarande svake lag djupt i snødekke. Regnet har truleg ført til at dette er øydelagt dei fleste stadar, men i dei høgaste områda der det har vore mest snø finst det kanskje enda. Det er uvisst om fuktigheit vil trenge ned til dette og igjen føre til skredaktivitet.

Tysdag og onsdag gjekk det fleire naturleg utløyste skred under snøfokk og påfølgande mildvêr.

2-4 mm precipitation. Rain up to 700 m a.s.l during the evening. Strong breeze from southeast, changing to breeze from the south during the afternoon. -4 °C to 1 °C at 700 m a.s.l. Cloudy.

Sunday 14. April 2024

5-8 mm precipitation. Rain up to 600 m a.s.l Sunday night. Fresh breeze from southeast, changing to fresh breeze from the west during the afternoon. -2 °C to 1 °C at 700 m a.s.l. Cloudy.

Avalanche risk assessment

Det kan gå enkelte våte laussnø- og flakskred, og sannsynet er størst der det kjem mest regn. Mykje av snøen er allereie utsett for mildvêr og toler mildvêret bra. Det er usikkert om det framleis finns vedvarande svake lag i snødekket og om varmen og fuktigheita eventuelt trenger ned til dei. Om det gjer det, kan det gå større skred. Skredfara minkar når det blir kaldare utover kvelden.
