Consequence
Vulnerable infrastructure can be affected due to accumulation of snow. Travel time may increase on some journeys. Local driving conditions may become difficult. Blowing snow causes reduced visibility and possibly convoys and/or closed roads.
Advice
Vulnerable installations and objects should be protected. Allow some extra time for transportation and driving. Use tires fit for winter conditions and use caution while driving. The need for emergency preparedness shall be assessed continuously by emergency response actors.
Description
Thursday and friday 15-30 cm/24h of snow is expected in Salten and Ofoten. Precipitation is caused by snowshowers and this will cause local variety in amount of snow. In the beginning the precipitation will come as sleet.
