Avalanche warning for region Salten Sunday 12.05.2024

Generally stable conditions. Be careful in areas with new wind slabs at high elevations and in steep slopes with wet snow. Avoid areas with glide cracks.

Snødekket er tidligere gjennomfuktet høyt til fjells, men det finnes fortsatt tørr fokksnø på de høyeste toppene og fjellene langs svenske grensen. Det er fortsatt harde skarelag i snødekket fra tidligere i vinter, særlig i skyggevendte heng.

Det har vært stor snøsmelting den siste uken på grunn av høye dagtemperaturer og fravær av nattefrost. Under skoggrensen er det relativt lite snø igjen.

4-5 mm precipitation. Rain up to 1000 m a.s.l during the afternoon. Breeze from south. -8 °C to 4 °C at 1100 m a.s.l. Partly cloudy.

Sunday 12. May 2024

14 mm precipitation, up to 20 mm in the most exposed areas. Rain up to 1300 m a.s.l during the afternoon. Breeze from southwest. 0 °C to 4 °C at 1100 m a.s.l. Cloudy.

Avalanche risk assessment

Generelt ventes stabile forhold. I bratte heng med våt snø kan små løssnøskred utløses av en person, og enkelte skred kan løsne av seg selv.

På de høyeste toppene og mot svenske grensen, hvor nedbøren kan komme som snø, er det fortsatt mulig å utløse skred i nysnøen. På grunn av milde temperaturer og lite vind forventes skredene også her å forbli små.

Vi er fortsatt i en periode hvor glideskred kan løsne. Unngå områder med glidesprekker.
