Danger level 3 - Considerable avalanche danger

Demanding conditions with heavy snow/rainfall. Avoid avalanche terrain above tree line. Possibility for wet loose avalanches at lower elevations.

Below you can see a description of the current snow cover information and current weather forecast in the mountains. If your observations deviate greatly from what is described here, the warning will not necessarily apply either. Always make your own judgments or stay away from avalanche terrain.

Det gamle snødekket er prega av vekslande vær, med mykje nedbør, både snø og regn, og kraftig vind. Det er mest snø i forsenkningar i aust- og sørvendt terreng. Lågare i fjellet og i ytre del av regionen har det kommet mykje nedbør som regn. Det er lite snø i ytre delar av regionen, og høg snøgrense også i indre delar.

20 mm precipitation, up to 40 mm in the most exposed areas. Fresh breeze from southwest, changing to moderate gale from the southwest during the afternoon. -2 °C to 2 °C at 1100 m a.s.l. Cloudy.

Avalanche risk assessment

Mykje nedbør og hard vind gir stor pålagring av fersk fokksnø i leområder over mildværsgrensa. Den eldre fokksnøen har stabilisert seg mykje i helga, så skredproblemet vil hovudsakleg ligge i nysnøen. Områder som får mykje regn på snø er utsatt for våte skred.
