Manglende nattefrost og mildere vær har trolig gjort snøen fuktig eller våt i samtlige himmelretninger. Det er mer snø enn normalt, og store skavler er utbredt i regionen.

I indre deler av regionen finnes det et lag av kantkorn langs bakken, men laget har få ugunstige egenskaper og er vanskelig å påvirke.
