Avalanche warning for region Voss Tuesday 02.04.2019

Be careful in lee areas with wind deposited snow, typically behind ridges, ribs and in gullies. Especially where the wind deposited slabs are thin or soft, a slab avalanche is easier to trigger here.

You can easily trigger avalanches on some steep slopes. Avalanches can get large enough to bury or even kill you (size 2).

Det ligg fokksnøflak av ulik hardheit i leområder etter snøværet i helga. Det ligg laus snø tilgjengeleg for vind i skjerma formasjonar over skoggrensa. Tynt snødekke under ca 500 moh. Den eldre snøen er i hovudsak varmepåvirka og stabilisert.

Søndag moderat snøfokk i høgda.

Avalanche risk assessment

Hard vind og litt nysnø frå ny retning gir ferske fokksnøflak i leområder mot V- NV og N. Nysnøen er varmepåvirka og kram eit godt stykke til fjells, så snøen blir flytta meir til høgare ein kjem. Det er forhold for glideskred ved sigesprekker. I solvendte bratte heng kan det gå små våte laussnøskred.
