Monday 21. May 2018

Våren er godt på vei og det har smeltet bra den siste tiden og snødekket har vært gjennomfuktet høyt til topps.

I lavlandet er det stort sett snøfritt under ca. 500 moh.

Siste netter frem til mandag har det vært nattefrost over ca. 900 - 1000 moh.

Nedbør søndag og gjennom natt til mandag har gitt påfyll av nysnø i høyden.

Varmt vær i mai har trolig tatt knekken på vedvarende svake lag av kantkorn, men i høyden finnes fortsatt tynne islag nede i snøen som kan samle vann ved mye regn eller kraftig snøsmelting.

5 mm precipitation, up to 10 mm in the most exposed areas. Strong breeze from southwest. 0 °C to 6 °C at 700 m a.s.l. Partly cloudy.

Tuesday 22. May 2018

5-8 mm precipitation. Fresh breeze from southwest, changing to strong breeze from the west during the afternoon. 0 °C to 4 °C at 700 m a.s.l. Partly cloudy.

Avalanche risk assessment

Faren for naturlig utløste våte flakskred og løssnøskred ventes å avta med noe lavere temperaturer og mindre nedbør. Men små løssnøskred kan løsne ved liten tilleggsbelastning. Det forventes lite naturlig skredaktivitet.

I høyden over mildsværgrensen vil snø i kombinasjon med sterk vind ha dannet ferske fokksnøflak i begrensede områder.
