Danger level 3 - Considerable avalanche danger

Locally unstable conditions due to wind slabs in lee areas. Highes danger level is excpected the northwest part of region, Porsangerhalvøya.

You can easily trigger avalanches on some steep slopes. Avalanches can get large enough to bury a car or destroy a small house (size 3).

Det er ventet at skredfaren vil avta noe i løpet av morgenen torsdag pga mindre nedbørsmengder og roligere vind på formiddagen. Vinden vil avta noe og etterhvert blåse mer fra øst, mest utsatte himmelretninger vil derfor være i endring i løpet av dagen. Varselet er basert på et enklere datagrunnlag enn regionale varsler og utgis kun for faregrad 4 og 5.
