In areas with large amounts of new snow large avalanches could be triggered. Otherwise are fairly stable snowpack is expected.

You can trigger avalanches on some steep slopes. Avalanches can get large enough to bury a car or destroy a small house (size 3).

Lavlandet bærer preg av mildvær.
I høyfjellet over ca. 1200 moh. består snøoverflaten av fokksnø med varierende hardhet, i vindutsatt terreng er det avblåst til bakken eller skare.

Det gamle snødekket antas stabilt etter flere runder med mildvær.

10 mm precipitation, up to 15 mm in the most exposed areas. Rain up to 900 m a.s.l Monday night. Moderate gale from southwest, changing to gale from the west during the afternoon. -9 °C to 0 °C at 1400 m a.s.l. Cloudy.

Tuesday 25. January 2022

3-5 mm precipitation. Rain up to 400 m a.s.l during the evening. Breeze from west, changing to fresh breeze from the southwest during the evening. -11 °C to -5 °C at 1400 m a.s.l. Cloudy.

Avalanche risk assessment

Skredfaren er størst i områdene som fikk mye snø på mandag.
Her kan trolig skredene bli store.

Nysnøgrensen trekker lengre ned, men her vil nysnø legge seg på et stabilt underlag.

Milde temperaturer og mye fukt i snøen gjør at det stabiliseres raskt.

Områder uten fersk fokksnø vil ha mer stabile forhold.
