Be aware of isolated wind slabs above treeline, otherwise stable conditions. There may be a persistent weak layer of surface hoar deep in the snowpack in isolated areas.

I løpet av de siste dagene har det kommet 20-40cm med snø som har vært tilgjengelig for vindtransport. Torsdag var det mildvær og vind. Snøoverflaten i lavlandet ble våt, og det dannet seg ferske fokksnøflak over mildværgrensa. Det kan stedvis være avblåst og skare på enkelte rygger i høyden.

Det har blitt observert et nedsnødd rimlag i regionen før jul, som nå er aktivt i Indre Troms. Det er mulig at dette rimlaget fortsatt finnes i Lyngen i noen få heng høyt til fjells.

Avalanche risk assessment

Litt påfyll av snø gjør at det kan dannes nye, små fokksnøflak i leformasjoner mot NØ-Ø over snøgrensen. Fokksnøflakene fra uværet på torsdag ventes å ha stabilisert seg, og vil være vanskelige å løse ut. Det er mulig at det finnes et vedvarende svakt lag med nedsnødd rim i snødekket i noen få utsatte heng høyt til fjells. Skredfaren vurderes til faregrad 2 - moderat. I lavlandet ventes generelt stabile forhold.
