Consequence

Vulnerable infrastructure can be affected due to accumulation of snow. Travel time may increase on some journeys. Local driving conditions may become difficult. Strong wind will locally lead to blowing snow, which causes reduced visibility and risk of convoys and/or closed roads.

Advice

Vulnerable installations and objects should be protected. Allow some extra time for transportation and driving. Use tires fit for winter conditions and use caution while driving. The need for emergency preparedness shall be assessed continuously by emergency response actors.

Description

Thursday afternoon and evening large amounts of snow are expected. In the lowlands 10-20 cm is expected, in mountainous areas even more. In periods the precipitation will come as rain; in southern and western areas up to 700 m.
