Be careful in areas with recent wind slabs. Wind from southeasterly direction will still strong enough to erode snow on the ground and deposit it in sheltered slopes and couloirs.

You can easily trigger avalanches on a few steep slopes. Avalanches can get large enough to bury or even kill you (size 2).

Kraftig vind på onsdag har truleg gitt ei hard snøoverflate og eit snødekke som er ujamt fordelt i terrenget.

Det er gode bindingar mellom lag i underliggande snø.

I Kvassdalen på sørsida av Vikafjellet gjekk det nokre våte laussnøskred i mildvêret i starten av veka.

På Vikafjellet (910 moh) var det -2 °C, og det bles 15 m/s frå søraust. Rv. 13 hadde kolonnekøyring pga. snøfokk.

Little to no precipitation. Fresh breeze from southeast. -7 °C to -2 °C at 1100 m a.s.l. Partly cloudy.

Avalanche risk assessment

Vinden minkar litt og held seg på søraustleg retning. Det er framleis forhold for vindtransportert snø, men ikkje like kraftig som tidlegare i veka. Skredfaren minkar litt og færre heng er utsett. Der snødekket er samanhengande, kan ein løyse ut middels store skred i fersk fokksnø.
