Published:
Locally unstable avalanche conditions in the alpine. Be careful of recently loaded storm slabs. A persistent weak layer of facets may be triggered, especially where the snow cover is thin.

Snow cover (in Norwegian)

Thursday 2. January 2020

Mountain weather

Thursday 2. January 2020

0-4 mm precipitation. Fresh breeze from west, changing to moderate gale from the southwest during the afternoon. -2 °C to 2 °C at 1100 m a.s.l. Partly cloudy.

Friday 3. January 2020

15 mm precipitation, up to 20 mm in the most exposed areas. Gale from west. -6 °C to 1 °C at 1100 m a.s.l. Partly cloudy.

Advice

The bulletin is a planning tool and may differ from the actual situation. Always make your own evaluation. To be 100 % avalanche safe, avoid all avalanche terrain.

Avalanche risk assessment
