Avalanche warning for region Trollheimen Saturday 19.12.2020

Generally stable conditions, but high temperatures and a little rain can cause short term instabilities up high. Be careful in steep terrain, especially where wind deposited slabs are thin or soft, a slab avalanche is easier to trigger here.

You can easily trigger avalanches on a few steep slopes. Avalanches are relatively harmless to people, but can knock you off balance. Can be dangerous close to terrain traps. (size 1)

Snødekket er generelt tynt og snøoverflaten varierer mellom å være hard og isete eller litt mykere med overflatekantkorn. Snøgrensen ligger på 500-800 moh, og er lavest i indre del av regionen. Mest snø er det i Sunndalsfjella. Lite snø i ytre del av regionen.

Tørt og klart vær har den siste tiden gitt gode forhold for oppbyggende omvandling. Dannelse av overflatekantkorn har mange steder gitt en løsere snøoverflate.

Det ventes et fuktig snødekke til fjelltopphøyde. På utsatte plasser vil det være mulig for en skiløper å løse ut små våte løssnøskred. Fokksnøflakene ventes å være stabilisert.
