Avalanches may release spontaneously on a few steep slopes. Avalanches are relatively harmless to people, but can knock you off balance. Can be dangerous close to terrain traps. (size 1)

Saturday 4. May 2024

Mildvær tidligere i uken har påvirket snødekket opp til ca 1200 moh. Siden fredag har temperaturen sunket og snødekke har begynt å fryse på igjen i høyden.

Det er stedvis lite snø under 200 moh.

Kantkornlag dypere i snødekket er sannsynligvis fortsatt tilstede nordvendt høyt til fjells, men lite sannsynlig å påvirke.

Tirsdag ble det observert våte skred i sørvendt side ved Lavangsdalen.

2-5 mm precipitation. Rain up to 400 m a.s.l Saturday night. Fresh breeze from west. -6 °C to 2 °C at 1100 m a.s.l. Partly cloudy.

Sunday 5. May 2024

No precipitation. Breeze from north. -10 °C to 0 °C at 1100 m a.s.l. Partly cloudy.

Avalanche risk assessment

Synkende temperaturer og nattefrost gjør at snødekket i høyden vil fryse til og stabiliseres. Det kan fortsatt være lett å løse ut små skred der snøen fortsatt er våt. Når solen titter frem kan enkelte små skred gå naturlig.

Over mildværsgrensen kan det i løpet av uken ha lagt seg opp små lommer av fokksnø, disse antas å ha stabilisert seg.

Hold god avstand til skavler.
