It’s mainly stable snow, but it is possible to trigger small avalanches in steep terrain where the snow is wet. Keep a safe distance to cornices and glide cracks.

You can easily trigger avalanches on a few steep slopes. Avalanches are relatively harmless to people, but can knock you off balance. Can be dangerous close to terrain traps. (size 1)

Det smelter mye snø fra dag til dag. Likevel er det fortsatt skiføre i høyfjellet, men i bratt terreng som vender mot sør er det generelt lite snø. I hovedsak består snødekket av grovkornet og smelteomvandlet snø, som drenerer smeltevann godt.

Avalanche risk assessment

Snødekket er generelt stabilt, men det kan være lett å løse ut små skred der snøen er veldig våt.

Vær obs på at selv små skred kan ha store konsekvenser om du er på feil sted, slik som i nærheten av terrengfeller.

Hold god avstand til skavler og glidesprekker. Med økende varme øker sannsynligheten for skavlbrudd og glideskred.
