You can easily trigger avalanches on a few steep slopes. Avalanches are relatively harmless to people, but can knock you off balance. Can be dangerous close to terrain traps. (size 1)

Før helga kom det nysnø i høgfjellet, og nokre stader var vinden sterk nok til å danne fokksnøflak. Det gamle snødekket vart smelteomdanna i alle høgdenivå under mildvêr i april, og dette er stort sett stabilt. Det er lite snø og begrensa skiføre under 1100 moh.

Det har vore kaldt om nettene dei siste dagane. Målestasjonen i Sirdal (650 moh) målte minimumstemperatur på 0 °C natt til tirsdag.

Avalanche risk assessment

Skredproblemet er knytta til bratte heng med våt snø. Her kan det løysast ut små våte skred, både naturlig og av skikøyrar. Stigande temperatur gir meir oppbløyting av snøen enn dei foregåande dagane i alle himmelretningar. Det er nysnøen som er lettast å påverke. Eventuelle fokksnøflak har stabilisert seg og er ikkje venta å utgjere eit problem.
