Wet snow (loose snow avalanches)

You can easily trigger avalanches on a few steep slopes. Avalanches are relatively harmless to people, but can knock you off balance. Can be dangerous close to terrain traps. (size 1)

The bulletin is a planning tool and may differ from the actual situation. Always make your own evaluation. To be 100 % avalanche safe, avoid all avalanche terrain.

Snow cover (in Norwegian)

17. mai kom det endel snø i Steigen og Hammarøy område med vind fra nordvest til sørvest. Det antas at det ligger enkelte fokksnøflak i østvendte lesider. Denne snøen har i etterkant blitt påvirket av sol og varme slik at den er blitt smelteomvandlet i mange heng. Fortsatt kan det være vinterlig i nordvendte sider. Den gamle snøen forut for snøfallet 17. mai er generelt smelteomdannet og stabilt. Stedvis er det mye vann i snøen.

Det er nå lite snø igjen under 300 til 600 moh.
