Avalanche warning for region Lyngen Sunday 19.01.2020

Danger level 2 - Moderate avalanche danger

Published:

The wind has been strongest in the west and here the windslabs are harder and not so easy to trigger. In the east there is more snow and soft windslabs will be easy to trigger here. Be careful in lee areas and close to terrain traps. Be also aware that there can be pockets with persistent weak layers high up.

Avalanche problems

Wind drifted snow (slab avalanches)

You can trigger avalanches on some steep slopes. Avalanches can get large enough to bury or even kill you (size 2).

Advice
