A lot of precipitation and wind, combined with a rapid increase in temperature will cause several very large naturally released avalanches. Avoid all avalanche terrain.

Avalanche problems

Wind drifted snow (slab avalanches)

on some steep slopes. Avalanches can get large enough to bury a large truck or destroy several houses (size 4).

Wet snow (slab avalanches)

on some steep slopes. Avalanches can get large enough to bury a car or destroy a small house (size 3).

Torsdag og natt til fredag er det kommet ca. 25 cm ubunden nysnø. Den underliggende snøen i lavlandet er gjennomfuktet av mildværet tidligere i uken. I høyden så har kraftig vind og snøvær ført til en vindpåvirket snøoverflate med store ansamlinger av fersk fokksnø i leheng.

Det har løsnet flere middels store snøskred i fersk fokksnø de siste dagene.

25 mm precipitation, up to 60 mm in the most exposed areas. Rain up to 800 m a.s.l Monday night. Gale from southwest, changing to moderate gale from the southwest during the afternoon. -8 °C to -1 °C at 1100 m a.s.l. Cloudy.
