Generally safe avalanche conditions. In few places in leeward slopes, wind deposited snow are covering persistent weak layer.

You can trigger avalanches on a few steep slopes. Avalanches can get large enough to bury or even kill you (size 2).

Below you can see a description of the current snow cover information and current weather forecast in the mountains. If your observations deviate greatly from what is described here, the warning will not necessarily apply either. Always make your own judgments or stay away from avalanche terrain.

For det meste hard, vindpakket snø. I vindutsatte områder i høyden er det avblåst til skare. I sør- og østvendte heng finnes det noe fokksnø i avgrensede områder. Ellers litt løs fokksnø i skjermede heng og i skogen. Store rimkrystaller på overflaten har nå blitt nedsnødd med et par centimeter nysnø som kom natt til torsdag.

Avalanche risk assessment

Stedvis ligger det nedføyket rim eller overflatekant men de er trolig vanskelig å påvirke.

Eldre kantkornlag i snødekket er generelt vanskelig å påvirke, men kan kollapse på tynt snødekke og ved stor punktbelastning.

Vær oppmerksom på at det kalde været fremover kan gi oppbyggende omvandling i snødekket og svake lag kan dannes.
