Avalanche warning for region Finnmarkskysten Tuesday 18.05.2021

Danger level 1 - Low avalanche danger

Published:
Conditions for wet avalanches. Be careful in wet and soaking snowpack.

Avalanche problems

Wet snow (loose snow avalanches)

on a few steep slopes. Avalanches can get large enough to bury or even kill you (size 2).

Loose snow

Below you can see a description of the current snow cover information and current weather forecast in the mountains. If your observations deviate greatly from what is described here, the warning will not necessarily apply either. Always make your own judgments or stay away from avalanche terrain.

Snow cover (in Norwegian)

Monday 17. May 2021

Mountain weather

Monday 17. May 2021

0-3 mm precipitation. Breeze from southeast. -2 °C to 5 °C at 700 m a.s.l. Partly cloudy.

Tuesday 18. May 2021

3-5 mm precipitation. Fresh breeze from southeast. 2 °C to 6 °C at 700 m a.s.l. Partly cloudy.

Advice

The bulletin is a planning tool and may differ from the actual situation. Always make your own evaluation. To be 100 % avalanche safe, avoid all avalanche terrain.

Avalanche risk assessment

Varme og litt regn vil gje smelting og vassmetting i snødekket. Det gir forhold for eit og anna naturlig utløste våte skred utpå dagen. Ellers generelt stabile forhold.
