Consequence
Vulnerable infrastructure can be affected due to accumulation of snow. Travel time may increase on some journeys. Local driving conditions may become difficult. Blowing snow causes reduced visibility and possibly convoys and/or closed roads.
Advice
Vulnerable installations and objects should be protected. Allow some extra time for transportation and driving. Use tires fit for winter conditions and use caution while driving. The need for emergency preparedness shall be assessed continuously by emergency response actors.
Description
From Sunday afternoon heavy snow is expected in higher ground. Total of 40-60 cm snow is expected in the mountains, locally it can be more. The freezing level will vary. It starts around 1000 meters, and it will decrease from Sunday evening. The freezing level will be close to the ground level throughout Monday, therefore snow is also expected in the lowlands.
