Avalanche

Locally unstable conditions. A skier or a snowmobile may trigger avalanches in the fresh wind slabs. Fresh wind slabs are moste likely to be found near the coast. Persistent weak layers are present deep in the snowpack, but are not expected to cause avalanches. (NVE)

New snow and wind could form wind slabs on top of loose, weak layers. Last week crisp and cold conditions formed near-surface facets, and these may get buried now. Avoid steep slopes with wind slabs. Areas with a loose snow surface will have stable conditions. (NVE)
