You can easily trigger avalanches on some steep slopes. Avalanches are relatively harmless to people, but can knock you off balance. Can be dangerous close to terrain traps. (size 1)

Det er lite snø i regionen og gjenværende snø er smelteomvandlet og drenerer smeltevann godt. Snøoverflaten er stort sett fuktig, våt og myk. I nord og vestvendte terreng formasjoner ligger snøgrensen lavere enn i sør og øst, der det knapt er skiføre og snø igjen.

Natt til mandag 27.05 ble det målt -3,5 grader ved Storhornet i Oppdal, 1550 moh.

Avalanche risk assessment

Nedbør i form av snø med vind fra nordvest vil føre til ansamlinger av nysnøflak i S og Ø vendte leområder der det ligger igjen snø fra vinteren. Det ventes at nysnøen binder seg dårlig til gammel snøoverflate, men at evnt. skred i hovedsak ikke vil overstige str. 1, små skred. Det gamle snødekket vurderes som stabilt uten lagdeling med god evne til å drenere vann.
