Avalanche warning for region Romsdal Tuesday 14.01.2020

Be careful in lee areas with wind deposited snow, typically behind ridges, ribs and in gullies. Especially where the wind deposited slabs are thin, a slab avalanche is easier to trigger here.

You can easily trigger avalanches on some steep slopes. Avalanches can get large enough to bury or even kill you (size 2).

Det er varierende snødekke. Kraftig vind og snø har har lagt opp store mengder vindtransportert snø i Ø og NØ vendte leområder.

Rygger og utsatt terreng er blåst ned til gammelt snødekke.

Vedvarende svake lag av kantkorn er dekket av bærende lag også på de høyeste toppene, det er derfor lite aktuelle som skredproblem.

Søndag ble det observert snøfokk i høyfjellet i Rauma.

Mest utsatt er leområder mot N og NØ hvor det dannes ferske fokksnøflak, her er det mulig å løse ut flakskred.
