Avalanche warning for region Romsdal Monday 11.02.2019

Danger level 3 - Considerable avalanche danger

Published:
The wind increases to NW moderate gale. The wind comes together with 12-25 mm precipitation as snow showers. There are weak persistent weak layers of faceted crystals in the snow cover. The avalanche hazard increases and the likelihood of natural released avalanches is highest during or right after the storm.

Avalanche problems

New snow (slab avalanches)

You can easily trigger avalanches on some steep slopes. Avalanches can get large enough to bury a car or destroy a small house (size 3).

Snow cover (in Norwegian)

Sunday 10. February 2019

Monday 11. February 2019

12 mm precipitation, up to 25 mm in the most exposed areas. Strong breeze from northwest. -12 °C to -6 °C at 1400 m a.s.l. Cloudy.

Advice

The bulletin is a planning tool and may differ from the actual situation. Always make your own evaluation. To be 100 % avalanche safe, avoid all avalanche terrain.

Avalanche risk assessment
