Avalanche Danger Assessment

Værprognoser tilsier ikke stor endring i skredfaren Forecast too high

Weather

No precipitation 1 °C from N ↓ 80% clouds

Avalanche Problems

Dry slab avalanche Buried weak layer of faceted snow above a crust Within half a meter The collapsing weak layer is thin < 3 cm. Difficult to trigger 3 - Large N, NE, E, SE, S, SW, W, NW

Dry slab avalanche Buried weak layer of new snow Within half a meter The collapsing weak layer is thin < 3 cm. The overlying slab is soft. Easy to trigger SE, S, SW above 800 masl

Snow Cover

No snowdrift 5 cm new snow Some loose snow (1-10cm) Dry Vær nysnø opp til 800 m.

Avalanche Problems

Dry slab avalanche Buried weak layer of faceted snow above a crust The weak layer collapses easily and clean (easy propagation). The collapsing weak layer is thin < 3 cm. Difficult to trigger 3 - Large N, NE, E, SE, S, SW, W, NW above 800 masl

Loose wet avalanche Loose snow Spontaneous release 2 - Medium SE, S, SW above 100 masl

Avalanche Danger Assessment

Norway has 1:50 000 maps for the whole country. Maps can be bought at bookstores and sports shops, or printed from the net.

For slope angle maps, download the app Varsom Regobs on App Store | Google Play or see our slope angle map at senorge.no ("helning" means slope angle).
