Avalanche warning for region Helgeland Friday 12.02.2021

Snow and wind will lead to a large amount of wind transported snow. Avoid all avalanche terrain. It is persistent weak layers in the snow pack. Naturally triggered avalanches likely.

Persistent weak layer (slab avalanches)

on many steep slopes. Avalanches can get large enough to bury a car or destroy a small house (size 3).

Det ventes store naturlige utløste skred fredag. Det kommer mye snø i kombinasjon med vind som vil bygge opp store fokksnøflak. I naboregioner er det observert et utbredt vedvarende svakt med rimkrystaller. Dette antas også å være tilfelle i regionen Helgeland. Rim gjør at fokksnøflakene blir vesentlig mer ustabile. Hold avstand til alt skredterreng!
