Be careful on steep slopes with soft and wet snow, a skier can trigger avalanches here. Keep distance to cornices and areas with glide-cracks

You can easily trigger avalanches on some steep slopes. Avalanches can get large enough to bury or even kill you (size 2).

Snøoverflata består i hovudsak av skare etter tidlegare mildvêr og påfølgjande tilfrysning. Skaren er for det meste hard og bærande, men i solvendte sider tinar den utover dagen og vert mjukare. Ligg litt mindre ansamlingar av fokksnø i nordvestlege fjellsider nord i regionen.

Over 1100 moh er det framleis mogleg å finne tørr fokksnø, då i mindre tynne ujamne flak.


Snøgrensa går på 5-800 moh, minst snø ved kysten og i bratte sørhellingar.

Avalanche risk assessment

Stigande temperatur vil svekke bindingar i snødekket og tilskying vil dempe utstråling og nattefrost høgt i fjellet. Ein kan forvente våte laussnøskred i alle himmelretningar, spesielt i sørvendte og bratte fjellsider.

Glideskred kan førekomme på bratte og glatte fjellsider. Hald avstand om det er glidesprekkar.

Ver merksam på faren for skavlbrot på toppar og ryggar.
