You can easily trigger avalanches on a few steep slopes. Avalanches are relatively harmless to people, but can knock you off balance. Can be dangerous close to terrain traps. (size 1)

Snødekkket er gjennomfrosset med stedvis noe tørr nysnø på toppen. Snømengdene minket betydelig forrige uke og snøgrensen er ca 1000 moh. Det finnes nå sammenhengende snødekke stort sett bare i fjellsider vendt mot nord til øst. I andre himmelretninger er det bare snø av betydelig mengde i terrengformasjoner som lett samler snø. I solvendt terreng er det lite snø under 1300 moh.

Ved Geilo målestasjon 772 moh er det observert snø første del av torsdag, med gradvis overgang til sludd.

Avalanche risk assessment

Nysnø vil danne ferske nysnøflak i høyfjellet som kan være lette å løse ut i utsatte heng, men ventes kun å føre til små skred på grunn av lite snø i fjellet.

Roligere vind gjør at fokksnøflak fra de siste dagene får tid til å stabiliseres.
