• ECTP29@85cm(Q1) • Sudden Collapse on a 4cm thick layer of moist facets 2mm
Notater
• Targeted the crust/facet persistent slab problem at 300m on a NW aspect near treeline. Probing revealed concerning snowpack structure and large column snowpack tests yielded positive results. There is a 4cm thick weak layer of moist, 2mm facets 85cm below the surface. It is sandwiched between the Feb 23 crust and a slab that is mostly 1 finger hard. The buried rain crust is ~5cm thick and there are some melt forms mixed in with the facets, but no water pooling was observed on the crust at this time.
