Be careful in lee areas with wind deposited snow, typically behind ridges, ribs and in gullies. Especially where the wind deposited slabs are thin or soft, a slab avalanche is easier to trigger here.

You can easily trigger avalanches on some steep slopes. Avalanches can get large enough to bury or even kill you (size 2).

Sist helg kom det mykje snø i kombinasjon med vind frå aust. Denne snøen ligg no som fokksnø av ulik hardheit i leområder. I forsenkningar og skjerma områder ligg det lausare og mjukare snø.
Under fokksnølaget ligg gammal, hard og bærande snødekke som har vore igjennom fleire runder med smelting og tilfrysing.

Mandag er det observert eit personutløyst skred på Gaustatoppen. Ikkje personskade.

Little to no precipitation. Breeze from northwest, changing to fresh breeze from the southwest during the evening. -11 °C to -1 °C at 1100 m a.s.l. Partly cloudy.

Wednesday 20. March 2019

2-5 mm precipitation. Moderate gale from west. -4 °C to 2 °C at 1100 m a.s.l. Partly cloudy.

Litt nysnø og kraftig vind vil legge opp ferske fokksnøflak i leområder. Desse flaka kan løysast ut av skiløpar medan dei er ferske, men det er gunstige temperaturar for stabilisering.
