Heavy rain will cause large wet avalanches into the high alpine. Avoid avalanche terrain.

Avalanche problems

Wet snow (slab avalanches)

Avalanches may release spontaneously on many steep slopes. Avalanches can get large enough to bury a car or destroy a small house (size 3).

Below you can see a description of the current snow cover information and current weather forecast in the mountains. If your observations deviate greatly from what is described here, the warning will not necessarily apply either. Always make your own judgments or stay away from avalanche terrain.

Natt til søndag var det nedbør som regn til 4-500 moh. Lokalt er det kommet svært mye nedbør.
Søndag og mandag er det snø til havnivå.

Mandag formiddag er det kraftig vind og mye snøføyk.

Før uværet forrige uke ble det observert et svakt lag med kantkorn i og rundt skoggrensa. Hva som er ståa nå etter uværet er usikkert.

4-8 mm precipitation. Precipitation as snow. Moderate gale from northwest, changing to fresh breeze from the west during the evening. -9 °C to -4 °C at 700 m a.s.l. Cloudy.

Tuesday 18. January 2022

15 mm precipitation, up to 25 mm in the most exposed areas. Rain up to 800 m a.s.l during the afternoon. Moderate gale from south, changing to moderate gale from the southwest during the afternoon. -7 °C to 2 °C at 700 m a.s.l. Cloudy.

Skredfaren ventes å øke utover ettermiddagen. Store naturlig utløste skred ventes når nedbør som regn når de høyeste fjelltoppene.
