Avalanche Danger Assessment

Varsom melder om ingen lagdeling under 500 moh for Svartisen. Dette stemmer ikke her. Tydelig svakt lag på 25 cm dybde på 400 og 200 moh ble observert.

Avalanche Problems

Dry slab avalanche Poor bonding between crust and overlying snow Within half a meter The weak layer collapses easily and clean (easy propagation). The collapsing weak layer is thin < 3 cm. Difficult to trigger Possible Widespread steep slopes E below 0 masl Vi rakk ikke høyere enn 450 moh i dag. Men vi observerte flere lagdelinger i snøen, der ett av de var ganske svakt. Øverst et 1.5 cm skarelag. Deretter 2 cm myk snø, så et 20 cm skarelag. Under tykt skarelag var det ganske dårlig binding til mykere snø. Under et 30 cm lag med mellomgrov smelteforvandla snø. Deretter et siste 50 cm lag med veldig grovkorna smelteforvandla snø med høg vanntetthet.
